Una de las figuras de mayor proyección y futuro de la lírica española.
Lucía Iglesias, la joven y prometedora soprano española, está conquistando la escena internacional con su especial voz y la personal puesta en escena, revelándose, en el presente, como una de las figuras de mayor proyección y futuro.
Nacida en Lugo en el año 2000, tiene las condiciones idóneas para recorrer un camino que se intuye lleno de aportaciones, de méritos para convertirse en una artista significativa de su tiempo, incluso más allá de la música.
Sus inquietudes se enfocan además hacia el mundo de las artes, se detienen en los diversos lenguajes contemporáneos y géneros y en el estudio de diferentes áreas; entre ellas se incluyen la época dorada del cine de los años cincuenta y sesenta y la moda de ese tiempo, en la que el buen gusto era excelencia.
Con similar disposición ha indagado en las carreras de las grandes divas como María Callas o Renata Tebaldi, plenas de talento dramático y que marcaron con sus roles un nuevo rumbo, dejando para la posteridad una huella imborrable.
En entrevista, la protagonista de la histórica obra reflexiona sobre la disciplina, el vértigo del crecimiento y la distancia entre sus personajes y la vida real.
La penumbra que envuelve la platea del Teatro Manuel Segura apenas permite adivinar su extensión. Sin embargo, cuando la luz se concentra sobre la figura vestida de un blanco envejecido en medio del escenario, el espacio se eleva a dimensiones sobrenaturales.
Con una caracterización inspirada en la expresividad dramática del cine de los años veinte, la soprano española Lucía Iglesias ensaya las transiciones de Venus, diosa del amor, la belleza y el deseo en el mundo clásico. La interpretación corresponde a La púrpura de la rosa, primera ópera compuesta y estrenada en América hace más de tres siglos y que hoy se reencuentra con Lima, la ciudad que la vio nacer.
Para quien contempla la escena por primera vez, la fluidez con la que canta Iglesias parece un don divino, en línea con la crítica europea, que la señala como una de las figuras más firmes y prometedoras de su generación.
Tras graduarse del prestigioso programa Crescendo del Teatro Real de Madrid y ofrecer conciertos en plazas tan competitivas como Nueva York y Boston, su llegada a Lima representa el debut en Hispanoamérica.
La soprano gallega debuta en ABAO Bilbao Opera como Sophie en Werther de Jules Massenet, un papel especialmente significativo en su trayectoria: esta ópera marcó el despertar de su vocación cuando era niña.
Con apenas unos años de carrera profesional, Lucía Iglesias (A Coruña, 2000) se ha consolidado ya como una de las sopranos con mayor proyección de la nueva cantera española gracias a una voz consolidada y a un gran instinto teatral.
Desde su debut profesional en 2019 como Clorinda en La Cenerentola de Rossini dentro del circuito de Òpera a Catalunya, ha ido sumando algunos de los roles más significativos del repertorio lírico — Adina, Susanna, Nannetta o Musetta — en escenarios como el Teatro Real, el Teatro Mancinelli de Orvieto, el Auditorio de Galicia o el Palacio de la Ópera coruñés.
Premiada en certámenes de prestigio internacional como el Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition o el Concorso Spazio Musica, interpretará junto a Celso Albelo y Annalisa Stroppa a Sophie, un rol cargado de lirismo y frescura que dialoga de forma especialmente significativa con sus propios inicios artísticos.
